Behind The Lens: Sleepwalking Through Lisbon

A quick turnaround and the looming jet lag that would entail curtailed any direction or planning of what exactly I would do once I arrived in Lisbon. I hit the streets in a daze, fueled on espresso and pastries, camera in tow, and was immediately struck by how arresting everything was. One of the most picturesque cities I’ve ever been to, with it’s hills cradling the tiled buildings; their clay rooftops cascading down to the edge of the water. I managed to hitch a ride to the coast just outside of town at one point, and between the geography, the architecture, the food, and the people, I felt a bit like I was in a José Saramago novel; retracing the steps of Ricardo Reis. Needless to say, every turn provided me with endless opportunities to capture some intriguing moments of this breathtaking city on film.
