Off the beaten path from Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro and in the northern state of Bahia is the remote beach town of Caraíva.  After a short flight on a very small plane, an even longer drive along a bumpy dirt road and a canoe across a river I arrived to this town with no roads and no cars; only sandy pathways with most leading to the beach.  Your only option is to slow down, truly disconnect and move with the beat of the swaying mangroves and palm trees above. Caraíva is a place to take your time to fall in love with nature, someone else or most importantly yourself.
